OK so you will spend more on tires but...

One of these can cost !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! as a Spec Miata with as many spare parts. The Whelen Modifieds tour hits some road courses like Limerock, but speaking as purely a Track Day Bro weapon the advantages are compelling... if only two really; raw power and a dedicated crash structure.

I had been curious about their abilities when I was lucky to encounter a couple gentlemen who run them at road courses, along with another Jersey fellow with who ran an ARCA chassis- both of which can swap in even suspension geometry compared to purely circle track racers. Apparently the running costs are very similar for the ARCA man as most other popular track toys ...minus fuel and tires. They can have expensive 4 cylinder Ford/Chevy's or inexpensive smallblocks.

Look at them. On track they are as aggrassive as they look and sound amazing.

One might expect a few gentlemen racers with seriously expensive machinery might find these unwelcome, as they can put down times similar to many late GT cars. Sure enough we ran into a couple of them too, who in all seriousness thought these had no place on the track next to (mostly weaving around) their exotic/ storied metal. See also: butthurt.

Case in Point: which is usually faster, the pace car or the race car? Now which do you think costs more? Will I always care what it looks like as long as its fast as balls and will save my ass in a roll? Nope. Next thread idea...ugliest fast race cars.
